Privacy policy

Effective date: October 9, 2026

This policy explains what information shop.halterhomelabs.com (the “Store”) collects, why, and who it’s shared with. The Store is run by Justin Halter, a sole proprietor in Missouri, trading as Halter Home Labs (“we”, “us”). We sell to customers in the United States only.

What we collect

When you buy something: your name, email address, billing address, phone number if you give it, what you bought, and payment details. Payments are processed by Shopify Payments. We never see or store your full card number.

When you request a quote (for a video or a development project): your name, email, organization, and what you tell us about your project, plus any files you send (logos, scripts, brand materials, examples). If we hold a discovery call, we keep our notes from it.

When you email or call us: your email address or phone number, and whatever you tell us.

Automatically, when you browse: device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, how you arrived, and similar usage data, collected through cookies by Shopify and by Google Analytics.

How we use it

To process orders, deliver downloads, send invoices, and provide support.
To review quote requests, do the project you hire us for, and talk to you about it.
To prevent fraud and keep the Store secure.
To produce site statistics, so we can understand how the Store is used and improve it.
To meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements.

Email. We email you about your order, your quote request, or your project. We don’t send marketing email. If we ever start a newsletter or other marketing email, we’ll only send it to people who opt in, and every one will have an unsubscribe link.

Projects that involve your systems. If a development project gives us access to your systems or to your customers’ information, we use that access and information only to do the work, and your written scope says how it’s handled.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Store:

Shopify, including Shopify Payments and its payment processing partners (store platform, checkout, payments and fraud checks, digital delivery, customer and order records). See https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.
Google Workspace (our email and calendar, and storage of project files you send us).
Google Analytics (site statistics). You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights, or if the business is sold or transferred.

Cookies and “Do Not Track”

The Store uses cookies that Shopify needs to run checkout and your cart, and analytics cookies (from Shopify and Google Analytics) that we use for site statistics. We don’t use advertising cookies or advertising pixels, and Google Analytics’ advertising features are turned off. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; checkout may not work without Shopify’s.

Our site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. We do not allow third parties to collect your information across other websites for advertising through our Store.

How long we keep it

Order and invoice records: as long as needed for tax and accounting, generally 7 years.
Project files (what you send us and what we make for you): for the life of the project and 90 days after delivery, so we can help with follow-up questions, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. If we host or maintain the work for you, we keep what’s needed for as long as that continues.
Quote requests we decline, or that don’t go ahead: deleted within 12 months.

Security

We use reputable providers and limit access to your information to what’s needed to serve you. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

Email hello@halterhomelabs.com to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We’ll respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some records, such as orders, where the law requires it. If your state gives you additional privacy rights, contact us the same way and we’ll honor them.

Children

The Store is not for children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information we already have, we’ll tell you by email before it takes effect.
